Kelly Hart & Hallman attorney Mark L. Hart, Jr. awarded The University of Texas School of Law’s Lifetime Achievement Award

Fort Worth, Texas (March 9, 2010) – Kelly Hart & Hallman is pleased to announce that Mark L. Hart, Jr. has been awarded The University of Texas School of Law’s Lifetime Achievement Award for 2010. The Lifetime Achievement award, bestowed by the University of Texas School of Law Alumni Association, honors an alumnus who has had a distinguished legal career and who has brought honor to The University of Texas School of Law through his or her service to the legal profession and to society. The award recognizes the alumnus who epitomizes the highest goals and traditions of the profession: diligence, discernment, integrity and a commitment to the betterment of our civic life.

Hart, a founding partner of Kelly Hart & Hallman, LLP, served as Managing Partner from the firm’s inception until December 2005. Hart has over 41 years of experience in corporate and securities law, mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, leveraged acquisition, and re-capitalization, securities offerings, financings and joint ventures and partnerships. He has been listed continuously in the publication The Best Lawyers in America® in corporate practice area for the past twenty years, and has been named to Texas Super Lawyers® in Business/Corporate Law since 2003.

He received his law degree in 1968 with honors from the University of Texas Law School, where he served as Associate Editor of the Texas Law Review. He received his B.B.A. from The University of Texas in 1965.

In addition to his professional career, Hart has served on the boards and as chair of Fort Worth Country Day School, the American Cancer Society, the Fort Worth Museum of Science & History and the University of Texas Law School Foundation.

In 2001, the UT School of Law announced the Mark L. Hart, Jr. Endowed Chair in Corporate and Securities Law.
