Kelly Hart & Hallman appreciates the importance of hiring good, young lawyers. And we think we do a pretty good job of it, too. In 2010, twenty-eight of our young lawyers were named Texas Rising Stars by Texas Monthly magazine, which recognizes the top 2.5% of lawyers under age forty. That means that over forty percent of our young lawyers are in the top 2.5% of their profession. We’re proud of that.
Our approach is simple: we hire talented and motivated individuals; then we provide them unique learning opportunities and hands-on experience. As a summer associate, you will play an active role in ongoing cases and transactions, working closely with mentoring lawyers along the way. You will experience the teamwork and strategic thinking that form the core of our practice and see the responsibility that our young lawyers are given from day one.
Also, unlike many large firms, we let you pick the section or sections in which to spend your time. Interested only in litigation? Then spend six full weeks with our Civil Litigation Practice Group. Can’t decide between real estate and corporate law? Spend three weeks in each. The choice is yours.
But whatever your selection, you’ll enjoy six weeks of getting to know what life is really like as a first-year associate, both through your work assignments and through exposure to some of the best activities that our communities have to offer.
Experience has taught us that our approach works. While our firm philosophy emphasizes academic achievement and technical expertise, we also stress collegiality and camaraderie. We like practicing law, and we are proud of our firm. We invite you to interview with us and to get to know us. In the fall of 2010, we will be conducting interviews of second-year law students at the following locations:
Monday, August 16, 2010 Baylor University School of Law
Thursday, August 19 , 2010 Southern Methodist University School of Law
Friday, August 27, 2010 The University of Texas School of Law
Friday, August 27, 2010 Sunbelt Minority Job Fair in Dallas
Monday, August 30, 2010 Texas Tech University School of Law
If your school is not listed above, or you are otherwise unable to attend one of the scheduled interview sessions, and you are interested in applying for our summer 2011 clerk program, please mail your resume and law school transcript to Prissy Moore, Director of Recruiting, at 201 Main Street, Suite 2500, Fort Worth, Texas 76102 or prissy.moore@kellyhart.com before August 1, 2010.
