History

Having established a diverse and successful litigation and commercial practice in Fort Worth, Texas, Dee J. Kelly formed Kelly Hart & Hallman in 1979 with Mark L. Hart, Jr. and William P. Hallman, Jr., who had highly regarded reputations in corporate and securities and real estate law. As the firm grew, it proved attractive to experienced and driven attorneys around the state, who expanded the firm's areas of practice into banking and finance, energy law, state and federal tax matters, among others.

Throughout our history, we have partnered with a broad array of clients to achieve success in a number of sophisticated business and legal matters. Since its inception, Kelly Hart has patterned its growth almost entirely on the needs of those forward-thinking businesses and individuals located in Fort Worth, including such clients as the entrepreneurial Bass family, Justin Brands, Anne W. Marion and the Burnett Companies, American Airlines, Pier 1, and BNSF Railway. As our firm’s practice has expanded, our client list has grown to include additional Fortune 500 companies, investor groups, and governmental entities in Texas and around the country. We offer each of those clients an unflagging commitment to excellent legal representation and outstanding client service while providing competent, efficient, and cost effective services that enable clients to anticipate, avoid, and resolve legal issues.

As with any business organization, our greatest strengths are the experience and dedication of our people. Since our inception, we have attracted exceptional graduates from nationally prominent law schools. The ranks of our attorneys include Members of the American Law Institute, Fellows of the Texas Bar Foundation, numerous former federal and state court judicial law clerks, and dozens of individuals recognized by their peers for numerous legal honors and awards.
Dee J. Kelly has won the prestigious Blackstone Award given by the Tarrant County Bar to the outstanding lawyer of the year.
